Some of the most meaningful Kalamazoo family photography sessions happen in places where generations of memories already exist.

Parents and their three adult children stand together on the lawn in front of their family home, surrounded by autumn trees.

It started with these five: Mom, Dad, and the three kids who grew up here.

Grandparents stand together on a wooded path as their grandchildren and dogs run around them in a playful blur of motion.

And over the years, those five became this beautiful, joyful blur of grandkids and dogs running around them.

With the whole family together, we set off to explore the place where so much of their story began. There were leaves to collect, paths to wander, and plenty of room to play.

Three generations of a family walk together beneath colorful fall trees, with a toddler carrying a basketball.
A toddler points toward something off-camera while their grandparents watch and laugh in the autumn yard.
Grandparents embrace three grandchildren in a group hug on a sunlit autumn path.
A toddler walks through fallen autumn leaves on a wooded path, with an adult following behind.
Two adults lift a laughing toddler into the air beneath golden autumn trees.
A grandmother holds her grandson’s hand on a wooded path; beside them, a woman and the boy walk together carrying fall leaves.
An elderly couple looks at an autumn leaf together as sunlight filters through the trees behind them.
Hands of family members hold a collection of yellow, red, and brown autumn leaves.
A black dog runs toward the camera on a wooded path, with family members following behind.
A smiling grandmother walks through autumn woods with her husband and family behind her.
Children and a dog run ahead of their family along a wooded path in golden autumn sunlight.

Family members walk beneath tall fall trees alongside a portrait of the grandparents standing together in front of their home.

The places where we grew up hold more than memories. They give us somewhere to gather, share stories, and watch the next generation make memories of their own.

Is there a place that holds your family’s story? I’d love to help you capture it. Let's
