Kalamazoo Professional Headshots | The Process with Hamilton Law

Is it time to update your commercial headshots? I bet this sounds as fun to you as a root canal (but I promise these sessions can be fun!). Below I outlined the process of working with me, so you will know what to expect. I believe that setting these expectations can make the process less painful and leaves room for personalization and ultimately, fun!

Where do I start? Take a look at some of my commercial headshot work to determine if my style matches your vision. I use all natural light (no off camera flash) and I do not use studio backdrops.

What are your costs? Contact me for pricing ( I shoot commercial sessions in and around Kalamazoo, Michigan. I have a very straight-forward pricing structure on a per employee basis. My files are included with my pricing, so you will be able to determine exactly if your budget is compatible with my sessions.

What's included in your commercial sessions? My commercial session included 1-2 edited headshots per employee available for download and use across multiple platforms (web, social media and print). I can also add on (for an additional cost) a documentary session of the office to give your business story telling images that showcase your team and brand.

What's your process?

  1. Light Scouting - If you approve the costs, I will come out and visit your office to study the light and determine the best vignettes to work with on the day of our session. I prefer to keep your office as the location because it's authentic to you. You will be surprised at what we can make work!

  2. Mood Board and Wardrobe Guide - I will work with you to create a mood board and I will send you my wardrobe guide

  3. Session Day - You will receive a schedule for session day that you can distribute to your employees

  4. Selection - I believe that the client should pick their favorite shots BEFORE I edit them. This process requires trust. You need to trust me when you see my mistakes and my unpolished images. I take my card out of my camera at the end of our session and have my clients look at my images with me for the first time. This allows my client to choose the images the best represent their personality and their brand.

  5. Editing - I take your favorite images and edit the overall lighting and color while also touching up specific details (skin, clothing, blemishes)

  6. Final Gallery - The images that we selected together will be polished and edited in your final gallery, available for instant download and use in all your marketing materials.

This is exactly the process we followed with the client below, Hamilton Law in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Hamilton Law contacted me to refresh the imagery on their website. Together we discussed the look and feel they were going for to represent their business and collaborated on every step together. I loved working with this dynamic duo! We shared many laughs together and I was able to see why clients love working with them. Not only was the process painless, it was truly enjoyable. I feel Ean and Phil's genuine, hard-working and fun personalities shine through in their images. Take a peek.
