Kalamazoo Family Photographer | Storm Family

When you have been photographing families for over seven years, you get the pleasure of observing their growth and milestones and it is the best part of my job as a family photographer in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Last week I posted a blog post called Now and Then, showcasing a family I have photographed for the last five years in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This week, I will continue with yet another Now and Then post, featuring a family I have been photographing since 2013 in Kalamazoo! I have documented this family as they welcomed new family members, took the training wheels off, and spent afternoons in the park. Watching this family grow and evolve from newborns into dynamic adolescents with their own interests has been so rewarding. As you scroll through these photos, you will see that many things change over the years (locations, weather, lighting, hairstyles, missing teeth, heights, clothing styles and even my photography skills!). However, the one constant in these photos is the joy and special bond that only a family shares. In my opinion, documenting your family connection through photography annually is the single most important material investment you can make. If a flood or fire were to destroy all my material possessions tomorrow, I would feel at peace if I had my family photos (use that cloud backup service!). You can't get this time back and it might not seem like it but the days pass by quickly! As Ralph Hattersly said, "We take photographs to remind us what our lives mean to us."
