99. That was the temperature on my car dashboard when I left Kalamazoo for this commercial photography session at 5pm on a sweltering Michigan June day. What does everybody crave on a hot day? Refreshments! Thankfully, my journey on I-94 West was taking me from Kalamazoo to the Local Pour in Sawyer, Michigan where I would get a chance to cool down and meet the dynamic duo behind this woman-owned business!
The Local Pour features a variety of different wines, beers, ciders, and spirits from the best Michigan makers in a tasting room experience, that encourages everybody to "take a seat at the table".
Not only are the drinks refreshing, so are Chalet and Jayme's welcoming personalities and the cozy and inviting atmosphere these two have created with their unique vision and unwavering passion. Take a peek at some more images from our session and be sure to stop in for an unforgettable experience.

From the Local Pour's Website:
After years of working in the property management industry, Chalet Sturgeon wanted to turn her passion for wine into a new career. Through working at different wineries in Berrien County, traveling to vineyards around the Great Lakes State, and researching the best Michigan spirits, she dreamed of opening an exciting, new kind of tasting room with good friend, Jayme Neumann. Jayme's years of winery experience coupled with her keen consumer insight made for the ideal sidekick. Together the pair imagined a place for guests to experience many different Michigan-made wines, beers, ciders, and craft cocktails under one roof. In 2021, Local Pour found a home in the beautiful community of Sawyer, Michigan in the heart of Harbor Country. Today, Local Pour gives everyone “a seat at the table” to taste, learn, and laugh while celebrating Michigan’s spirited bounty.
