During the past week, I had the pleasure of staying at Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort in Belize, a globally recognized eco-resort. My experience there was unparalleled. For me, travel is about much more than a destination, it's a mindset...a letting go of the daily routine and sinking into a state of deep relaxation and contentment. Travel is about expanding my mind and slowing down to notice the nuances. It's about embracing new cultures, people and experiences. As a photographer, it can be difficult to capture these intangible aspects in images. A colorful row of hammocks swung beneath magnificent palms...

The stripes on the cat and the sidewalk echoed the patterns of the palm tree silhouettes

Pink bougainvillea and turquoise waters accentuated the colors of the hand-woven menu.

While the Caribbean's glorious sunrise blended all those vibrant colors into a breathtaking display...

The Queen conch shell's hues of oranges and pinks resembled those found in the hibiscus flower

and the evening's golden glow stretched long shadows and filled the walls and paths with playful, dappled light...
