As a Michigan commercial photographer, I have had the pleasure of capturing the entire journey of how fresh produce from Partridge Creek Farm in Ishpeming, MI, makes its way from the farm to table. This session is part of my ongoing photography project for Michigan's 10 Cents a Meal Program.
Today, I want to take you through that journey, highlighting the dedication and hard work that goes into bringing the produce in this box to your table.
Partridge Creek Farm's has a 3.75-acre farm site and five community garden sites. Here, a variety of produce is grown, including lettuce, salad greens, microgreens, and berries.
Once the produce is ready for harvest, it is carefully picked by hand. This ensures that only the freshest and highest quality items are harvested.
The harvested produce is then meticulously trimmed and washed to remove any soil
After the produce is washed, it is laid out on a drying rack before being carefully packaged for distribution.
As I document the farm to school story through my photography, I am continually inspired by the dedication and passion of everyone involved in the journey.
