How I Capture Teens as a Family Photographer in Kalamazoo
As a family photographer in Kalamazoo, I often hear parents say their teenagers don’t want photos taken. And it’s true—teens are harder to photograph. They don’t want stiff, posed sessions. What works best is leaning into their personalities and letting them bring their energy to the session.
For this rooftop session, that’s exactly what we did. We wore sunglasses, called each other baddies, and pulled out the skateboards. We let them run, laugh, and even direct some of the poses.
